Patellar subluxation and dislocation - options for rehabilitation?!
-- Claire Robertson --
Patellar instability is a condition characterized by patellar subluxation or dislocation episodes. This PowerTalk will teach you all you need to know from hypermobility to surgical stabilisation. Claire will use her extensive experience (working exclusively in the PFJ field for over 15 years) to explore the multiple reasons for patellar instability. This will explore growth and dysplasia, tissue damage, hypermobility, strength deficits and neuromuscular stability.
There will be explanation of surgical interventions and how to predict who will need surgery and the optimum timing. Controversies in childhood decision making will be discussed.
Measurement and treatment of kinesiophobia will be explored as will be the use of braces and tape. The PowerTalk will be underpinned by evidence, anatomy, biomechanics and exercise physiology.
