Tennis Elbow: how can we 'serve’ our patients better

This PowerTalk considers how we can use the current evidence to enhance treatment outcomes in lateral elbow tendinopathy (LET) (tennis elbow) Identifying patients at risk of poorer outcome including novel assessment tools, and effective treatment strategies which may help are included. The ongoing debate for hands off versus hands on treatment strategies will be discussed, as well as how to identify which patients may benefit from either approach. The role of other conservative and surgical treatments including injection therapy, will also be reviewed, looking at the latest consensus driven treatment guidelines

Val Jones is a Physiotherapy Specialist working at the Sheffield Shoulder and Elbow Unit and also works in private practice. She lectures internationally about the assessment and rehabilitation of the elbow joint. Val has published in peer reviewed journals and is a previous AHP representative on the British Elbow and Shoulder Society Council, as well as being the current UK national delegate and board member of EUSSER. She is an associate editor for the Shoulder & Elbow journal.
